Twyford Community Centre - May Events

A lot is happening at the Twyford Community Centre (TCC) this month.
Firstly, we have been very fortunate in securing the Spitfire Sisters to perform at our 80th Anniversary VE Day afternoon tea, on Monday 5th May from 3.30pm. Entry by ticket only - £15 for adult or £7.50 for children 5-12 years old. Many of you will know of the Spitfire Sisters. A local trio who are now world renowned. They have performed everywhere, including Buckingham Palace, the Orient Express and some of their earliest gigs were at Hunter Park! You will not be disappointed (unless you failed to get your tickets in time). Advance booking is essential for catering purposes. There will be no tickets available on the door. www.thespitfiresisters.com
Thursday 15 May 2pm - Film
This will be the last film showing until September
For contract reasons, we cannot publicised titles. For more information email twyfordsocialflicks@gmail.com
Next TCC will be holding their AGM on May 15th at 7.30pm. TCC isn’t a club, it has no members, it is owned by the village for the village and is run entirely by volunteers, so please come along and see what has been happening and perhaps suggest ideas for future events. Everybody is welcome.
Following shortly on the heels of the AGM is a brilliant concert on Saturday 17th May by the Blacksmith Folk Rock Band. Join us for an evening of Liege and Lief Fairport Album and beyond, through Steeleye, Albion Band and more. Doors open 7.30 for 8pm start. Tickets are £10 per head in advance and on the door. www.blacksmithband.co.uk
All tickets are available from the Community Centre on Tuesdays between 2 and 4pm and Fridays between 6.30 and 10pm, or you can order them from; twyfordcommunitycentre@gmail.com
Our popular Lunch Club has now stopped for the warmer season and will restart in September, as have our French Conversation meetings.
The TCC is also available for hire for table-top sales, parties, wakes and gatherings, with a full skittle alley available. We have a fully licenced bar, which can be open for your event and we are open to suggestions from all residents, young and old.
We’re eager to hear your suggestions and welcome your help to take it forward. What activities or clubs would interest you? Could you volunteer with any new ventures? Would you be happy to be involved in another way?
TCC looks forward to welcoming all to the Twyford Community Centre, It’s your Centre so please use it.
