October 2024

The days might be getting shorter, but the bookings at our Community Centre are getting longer. And after an unpredictable summer, you can rely on this safe and welcoming space to be there for you, your friends and family.

As ever, the full list of goings on can be found on the notice boards at the community centre, the centre’s Facebook page or on the website www.twyfordhantscc.org

But here are some of the highlights which make this a ‘much sought after’ place to live, as an estate agent might say.

Jazz Jam is back! This isn’t anything to do with conserves, but musicians who want to practise and perform. The bar is open if you want to come down and listen. First Monday of the month October 7th and November 4th from 6:30pm.

French Conversation Club returns on September 26th and October 31st at 1:15pm. I’m not sure whether the latter will be a Halloween special, but as a French ghost would say wooooooooo la la.

Twyford Flicks in the evening of 10th and 24th October and the Afternoon Films on the first and third Thursdays in the month - 3rd and 17th October at 2pm. If you want to know which films are showing a schedule is available at the Community Centre. There is also a mailing list you can join too.

The first Luncheon Club (TLC) is on Monday 7th October at 12.30. Hopefully the first of a regular monthly venture. Soup and a roll for £5. For further details pop into TCC on Tuesday afternoon where you can find out more or phone Daryl on 07747 845910.

We’re delighted to announce another Folk Night on the 26th October! These are always both popular and brilliant so be sure to get down to secure a table at 7.00pm.

The ever popular Quiz Night is being held on 16th November. Tickets £10 a head from TCC on a Friday 6.30-10pm or a Tuesday 2-4pm.

Finally, the popular Friday Evening Games Night. Come and challenge someone to a game of table tennis, snooker, darts or one of the board games. Our local expert is available if anyone would like to get started with chess or backgammon, or simply try and beat him. We are always on the lookout for new games; if you have any to donate or would like to bring along for the evening then please do. We love learning new games. On alternate Fridays you can also expect to find a range of delicious Asian food as well as a bar and friendly faces.

The Community Centre is a space for everyone and run by volunteers. We depend on your support so we can support the whole village and beyond.
